How many guests can Vinrich Lake Resort accommodate?
We can host up to 325 guests. As a guide (approximate, not a hard cutoff): Lakewood Château suits 150–200 guests, Riverbank Château 250–300+, the Olivine Banquet Hall 200–300, and the Amethyst Hall 100–250. Our lakeside lawns are also available for open-air ceremonies and night functions.
What venues are available for a wedding?
Lakewood Château (a timber pavilion built over the water, ideal for ceremonies and intimate receptions), Riverbank Château (a soaring timber pavilion with a private mezzanine gallery), the Amethyst Hall, the Olivine Banquet Hall (air-conditioned, for larger receptions) and our outdoor lakeside lawns for poruwa ceremonies, photographs and evening events.
Can we hold the poruwa ceremony by the lake?
Yes. Poruwa ceremonies on the lake edge and inside Lakewood Château are one of the most popular choices at Vinrich, with the Bolgoda Lake as the backdrop.
Do you offer wedding packages and menus?
Yes. All our wedding and event menus, with per-person prices, are on the Event Menus page — leave your name and phone number and they open immediately. Most menus let you choose your own dishes from each course. We also offer all-inclusive wedding packages that bundle the venue, catering, décor, entertainment and more for Lakewood Château, Riverbank Château, the Olivine Banquet Hall and the Amethyst Hall — call or WhatsApp our events team for a tailored quote.
How do I book a date or check availability?
Call our hotline on +94 112 603 800 or message us on WhatsApp with your preferred date and guest count. We'll confirm availability and invite you for a site visit before you decide.
Can we visit the venue before booking?
Absolutely — site visits are encouraged. Call ahead so a member of the events team can walk you through the halls, the château and the grounds.
Do you host events other than weddings?
Yes: homecomings, engagement parties, birthdays, corporate events, conferences, outings and family gatherings are all held at the resort.
Dining
What is included in the Sunday buffet?
The Sunday buffet runs 9 AM to 4 PM and includes a welcome drink, buffet lunch, an evening snack, iced coffee, free pool access and live music, for LKR 3,500 per person.
Do I need to reserve for the Sunday buffet?
Reservations are recommended, especially for groups, as Sundays are busy. Call +94 112 603 800 to book a table.
Is à la carte dining available on other days?
Yes. Our restaurant serves à la carte Sri Lankan and international dishes by the lake throughout the week.
Staying at the resort
Can we stay overnight?
Yes. We offer accommodation with pool access, lakeside seating and in-room dining — ideal for wedding parties, family getaways and guests travelling from outside Colombo.
Can wedding guests stay at the resort?
Yes. Rooms can be reserved for the bridal party and out-of-town guests. Let us know your numbers early, as availability is limited on wedding dates.

Where is Vinrich Lake Resort?
No. 18/3 Duwawatta Road, Madapatha, Piliyandala 10300 — on the shores of Bolgoda Lake, about 20 km south of Colombo city centre.
How far is it from Colombo?
Roughly 45 minutes to an hour by car from Colombo Fort, depending on traffic, via Piliyandala. Use the Get Directions link on our Visit Us page for live navigation.
