Your privacy

What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to stop offers or ask us to delete it. It follows Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022.

What we collect

Menu requests: your name, phone number, email (optional), event type, date and guest count if you give them.
Job applications: your name, phone number, email, any message you write, and the CV you upload.
Messages by WhatsApp, phone or email: whatever you choose to send us.
Visit statistics: which pages are visited (see Analytics below).

Why we collect it

To reply to your request, send the menus you asked for and plan your event. Sending a menu request also means you agree we may contact you about your event and send you offers by SMS, WhatsApp or email. Job application details are used only to consider you for current and future roles.

Offers, and how to stop them

We send offers now and then. To stop them, reply to any of our messages saying so, message us on WhatsApp, or email vinrichlakeresort@sltnet.lk. We will stop, and we will still reply about any event you have booked.

How long we keep it

Menu requests: until you ask us to remove them.
Job applications and CVs: up to 2 years, then they are deleted automatically.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages people use and improve the site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser; you can block or clear them in your browser settings.

Who sees your data

Our team, and the services that store or send it for us: PlanetScale for the database, Cloudflare for files, Vercel for hosting, Text.lk for SMS, Amazon Web Services for email, and Meta for WhatsApp. We do not sell your data.

Your rights and deletion requests

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you at any time. Email vinrichlakeresort@sltnet.lk and we will deal with it by hand.
